Pharmaceutical care in the management of fibromyalgia: impact of pharmacotherapeutic monitoring and the use of Curcuma longa in pain control

Fibromyalgia is a chronic syndrome characterized by physical and psychological symptoms that impact quality of life. This study aimed to analyze the contribution of pharmaceutical care and the use of Curcuma longa as adjuvant therapy in pain management. This is an integrative literature review, with articles published between 2017 and 2025 in the SciELO and PubMed databases. The results indicate that pharmacotherapeutic follow-up improves adherence to treatment and reduces medication-related problems, while Curcuma longa shows potential analgesic and antioxidant effects. It is concluded that the combination of these approaches may favor symptom control and the quality of life of patients, although further studies are needed for confirmation.
