Abstract

This dissertation explores the impact of supervisory practices on school organization and management, focusing on a case study at Nazobe Primary School in the Namacurra district during the 2023–2024 academic year. The study aims to understand how pedagogical supervision enhances internal school organization, human and material resource management, teaching performance, and overall quality of the learning process. Using a qualitative approach, the research employed semi-structured questionnaires with the school principal, deputy pedagogical director, and teachers, complemented by direct observations of school operations. This methodology provided in-depth insights into supervisory practices, highlighting both their positive effects and existing challenges. Findings indicate that effective supervision promotes innovative teaching methods, strengthens administrative organization, and motivates both teachers and students. However, irregular and unsystematic supervisory visits were found to hinder the consolidation of long-term improvements. The study concludes that pedagogical supervision plays a strategic role in enhancing school management, emphasizing the need for continuous training and systematic follow-up of supervisors. The research offers practical recommendations to foster more efficient and inclusive school management in the Mozambican context.
